Celebrating Australia… especially for you Dad

This is what happened… a good friend asked me to share this because it inspired him to do something special for someone he loves.

Australia Day is on 26 January in Australia and this year my father couldn’t celebrate it outdoors with the family and other proud Australians, because he was in hospital struggling with this health challenge that has been going on for a while.

This video is from the heart, and there are two reasons that make Australia Day mean so much to our family.

The first, we get to celebrate and thank my father for believing in his dream and moving us to Australia when we were kids. We’re all very, very grateful he helped make Australia our home. Love you Dad, you’re the best, we’ll never forget what you did for family… may you RIP.

The second reason, as Australian immigrants it was a dream of ours that someone in the family might somehow live to contribute on this celebratory day. After growing up and starting my business I lived to experience this dream when I was invited to serve and contribute on the Australia Day Advisory Team. They are a group of skilled individuals that develop strategies to attract contributors and sponsors, market events and activities including high achieving and inspirational Australians who deliver a keynote address that captures what it truly means to be Australian.

Australia Day is about inviting all Australians to celebrate everything that is great about Australia and being Australian. It’s a magical day that brings our nation together. We’re very honoured and proud to be Aussies and call Australia our home.

This video was created by us specifically for my father. He was over the moon, and really enjoyed how it captured snippets of what he loved about this great country.

You should know the original video clips/images were not taken by us. We struggled to work out who each of the clips really belonged to so there are no credits except for the music we chose and know. If by chance you know the original creators of any of the clips/imagery please shout out so we can get in touch and give each a credit for capturing whatever their contribution to this stunning footage was.

The music is by Tibet Team ffm. The video montage was collated by me and a very close friend (and family relative) who also loved my father. It took us over 43 hrs of work (we stopped counting the time we spent on it after that, and there was a lot) because we wanted to make it the absolute very best experience we could for my father.

I hope it inspires you to do something really special for someone you love.

Enjoy đŸ™‚

You’ve just given me an idea on how I cn bring some positive experiences in advance for my clients using the convenience of technology. Thanks very much for sharing.

I watched it a few times because of how beautiful it captures Australia and the awesome sound track playing. Any father would feel very special about such a special gift like that. Well done mate.

This is so beautiful, powerful and has had instant impact on me! I think my parents will appreciate something similar from us and the kids since my business has taken me away from them for an extended period. Cool idea, thank you so much

Thanks Liz. I think most people would enjoy seeing something that’s important to them being presented like that especially for them.
